The ASU Lodestar Center's Public Allies Arizona program invites the nonprofit community to its biweekly Discussions on Equity. Our meetings are held the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. Sign up now.
We invite you to Discussions on Equity, facilitated by Public Allies Arizona, an AmeriCorps program based at the ASU Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation.
This is an engagement group to read, listen, and discuss resources about how to be better Allies in underrepresented communities. This group has begun by focusing on anti-racism.
The topics in our series have been scaffolded to make them more accessible. We host discussion sessions every second and fourth Tuesday of the month, working through the materials and unpackaging the topic of racial justice and systems of oppression in Black, Indigenous, Persons of Color (POC) and Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) communities and elevating our own voices in support of inclusive spaces and systematic changes.
Our group leaders from Public Allies Arizona are white facilitators using resources that have been widely distributed by other white ally accountability groups such as Stand Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) who partner extensively with Black community organizations when developing their educational materials and talking points.
Please familiarize yourself with these materials that we will discuss. This form is a shared document designed to give everyone a place to type notes and share thoughts in order to engage with during the discussion. If you don't have capacity to read/view, for whatever reason, please come to the meeting anyway. We still want to hear from you and have you engage with us in a larger community.
This group is open to Allies, Alumni, friends, Partner Organizations and the wider community. We adhere to these group norms when engaging with one another.
