Course content includes the most highly relevant topics needed to lead and manage the fundraising efforts for a nonprofit organization. This certificate program is sharply-focused on these topics in order to offer the individual a deeply-engaging and robust experience.

Format

The Fundraising and Sustainable Financial Management Certificate is achieved by completing four individual two-week ASU Online Canvas courses, delivered in 14 days, approx. 15-20 hours total.

How it Works:

After registering for the Fundraising and Sustainable Financial Management Certificate, Nonprofit Management Institute staff will work to help you tailor a course schedule that ensures the most effective progress toward your full Certificate goal. You will be issued customized class codes to use when selecting and registering for the courses that best fit your schedule. 

Individual certificates are awarded at the end of each course. Upon completion of all required courses, you will receive the full Fundraising and Sustainable Financial Management Certificat. Participants have a total of three years from initial registration to meet the full certificate requirements.

You may still register on a per course basis. Discounts will only apply with Early Bird registrations. Individual course prices are listed below.

In this course, participants will learn basic accounting principles and how to interpret and manage financial statements for a nonprofit organization. In addition, you will also learn the difference between accrual and cash basis accounting, and the importance of internal controls to protect the assets of your organization. Finally, you will learn how to analyze and use tax form 990, along with your organization’s annual report, as public relations tools.

NMI 227: Strategic Planning Boot Camp provides participants with an intensive, hands-on experience using the current best-practices for effective strategic planning in nonprofit governance. In this 2-week online course, you will learn:

  • how to assess internal and external factors influencing the success of your programs
  • how your organization creates value for your clients
  • how to envision alternative, future scenarios with strategic responses for optimal organizational planning

In just two weeks, you will learn how to think strategically, approach your strategic planning creatively within your organization, and create a “Next Steps” Action Plan for implementing what you have learned.
